Writing Skill: Appeal / Poster

What is meant by an Appeal?
- An appeal is a serious and urgent request or a plea. It helps to arouse a sympathetic response in the reader.
- It could be for charity, donation, sales, etc.
- It helps to create social awareness or solve social problems (e.g., "Save Water," "Say No to Plastic," donations for relief funds, organ/blood donation).
- It is used to communicate effectively with a large number of people.
How to Prepare an Appeal / Poster
- It should ideally be written inside a rectangular box.
- Use short and persuasive sentences.
- The reader must be attracted to do what you are asking him/her to do.
- Use words like 'You' and 'Yours' frequently to bring the issue closer to the reader.
- Use pictures, rhymes, phrases, slogans, and rhetorical questions to catch the eye of the reader.
- Always give an address or contact details so the reader knows how to reach out.
